Rail Fence
This is a very easy beginner quilt, the hardest part is coming up with interesting fabrics and cutting the curves! But boy it will go together fast for the blocks are 16" - I've seen several around blogland. For more information, see The Root Connection, http://therootconnection.blogspot.com/
and there is one MORE quilt along I joined (what was I thinking?) called Aiming for Accuracy. Since I paid for the pattern I think I should join along...as soon as I choose fabric!

Midnight Mystery
It's been awhile since I did a mystery quilt, so when I saw this one at Meadow Mist designs, I jumped on it. The first clue has us making flying geese the no-waste method. They all look alike, but this is a good thing!
Another project I want to start is a paper pieced quilt-a-long with Christa at Christa quilts.(see http://christaquilts.com/christas-quilts-paper-pieced-qal/) I have wanted to start it for some time now but couldn't decide on the fabric! and I love the zig zag quilt, a wonky rail fence quilt a long at The Root Connection, again choosing fabrics is my stumbling block! So many projects....

Getting caught up on my rainbow string blocks. Finished the baby blues AND the reds! getting close to having enough squares, I think I just need 3 more colors. The shoe boxes in the background represent my scrap system!

Quilts for small pets in shelters
I received a request for kennel quilts from Petfinder in California, they are taking care of animals that have been displaced by fires. So today I made 4 kennel quilts. I've been using orphan blocks, adding bits as needed, and for the backs use leftover flannel and fleece. Fun! There is more information at http://www.quiltpatternmagazine.com/program/KennelQuilt/index.html
