Sourdough bread, “Hope”

I joined the sourdough starter craze, I guess we have too much time on our hands!  It is a fun experiment, using no yeast and you feel like you’re back in chemistry class again...or maybe HomeEc!  So after 7 days she was ready to be baked, I didn’t want a round, crusty loaf but rather a regular loaf I could make a sandwich with. Using my grandmother’s bread pan I made my first loaf of  yeast bread using no commercial yeast. Yummy success!

On Sunday I joined thousands of other quilters for Gudrun Erla of GE Designs...her second quilt along, “Hope.” I didn’t get very far along, the sunshine called me outside!  I used a fat quarter bundle that I can’t remember where it came from. After laying it out with a contrast fabric, I decided the contrast was too dark!  So I’m looking for another color, and going to work on that today. By the way the Elvira quilt was Gudrun’s first quilt along.
Here is another color, hmm do I like it...
