GEDesigns quilt along for a cause, Homecoming for hurricane relief

 This is the November quilt along and it looks easy enough that I’m adding it to my project list.  I haven’t decided on 2 or 3 colors but will again be ordering my fabric  I think I like 2 color, sounds easier… many possible variations 

Marble Mystery

 I’ve done a couple of her mysteries and liked them. So I’ve decided to do this one and ordered fabrics. A fun way to not have to choose colors!  And since I’ve given most of my fabrics away..

November!

 Hoping to be back in “business”… I want to do Bonnie Hunters annual mystery so I went online and found a quilt shop who assembled the needed colors.  I love what they selected!  I’ve made all her mysteries EXCEPT last years. I cut out a couple clues and never did any more. But I might later on since I have all the fabric needed for it.  There are 12 different whites/beiges!

  

So I moved my sewing machine and a table downstairs, making it easier to sew. I’m getting to the age where the stairs are intimidating ! It s the first time I’ve purchased fabric for a quilt, I always had enough in my stash and scraps. But in downsizing I gave my scraps and precuts to the person in charge of Quilts for Kids in my area. Still have some of the stash but it is in tote boxes and not easily accessed 

October !

 Wow here it is October and coming up one year since my son died. Some good days, some not so good, I have to make myself do at least one thing every day.  I brought my sewing machine and supplies downstairs, it was just too hard to climb the stairs to the sewing room. And I really want to sew again just not at the pace as before.  

After 2 months

 April and May were my sickness months and now I’ve come out of it. During this time in between resting and watching PBS I’ve been doing some serious down sizing. Not knowing how long I’ll keep living where I am, what with gardens to tend and up and down stairs with my bad knees, I’ve made good progress. The last thing I am tackling is my sewing room!  So much fabric and scraps. I kept my scraps separated by color so I thought I’d donate them to a quilting group (if wanted). There are two quilts that need quilting and one ready to cut out. My grand plans at the beginning of the year will not come to fruition 😩. In fact after getting well and adjusting to my new way of life (catheter and leg bag) I wonder if I’ll even go back to quilting. I seem to have lost interest in the things I used to love. So I’m not getting rid of all my fabs, just going thru stuff kinda makes me want to get back sewing.  I’m taking it one day at a time…

What a month April has been

 I’ve been sick all month and am taking my third antibiotic..Hope it does the trick. Meanwhile I just got the rows sewn together on this top.. not planning on any border

 This is ready to be prepared for quilting   I love it and hope to make another one, it was so fun to do.

It’s been over one month…

 This past month has been a downer for me. I’m still coping with the death of my son. But hoping Springtime will brighten my mood and everyday living. There’s so much to catch up on!

Also I  almost have all the squares I need for Streamers. I’ll add one more row to the width, plus move some blocks around. And maybe a narrow border

 Here’s the reveal on this block. I see three possibilities… each a little different. I could make two more quilts, one in each setting…

Well now I’m thinking maybe these should have sashing between, too busy?

Indigo way part 2

 This part is slow going, but after I cut out about a dozen more pieces I can just sit and sew. I really am slow with this mystery!

I saw this mystery on Kathy’s Quilts and I like the meaning behind the quilt group mystery so will start another mystery. I usually do better when several projects are on my table. I picked out 9 fat quarters and can cut them up really quickly with the stripology ruler

Indigo way. Mystery. Clue 1

 Finally got this first part done. I just haven’t been motivated, typical gloomy January. Some year I’m going somewhere warm and sunny in January!  My lights are kinda muddy, I have an aversion to white!  I have some of the second part cut out, who can say when I’ll get that done!  Hopefully….

And here’s the 5th and last.

 End of quilts for donation, for awhile. I have managed to use up jelly rolls, charm squares and layer cakes.  Still a few left but will tackle those later. Up next is the Bonnie Hunter mystery, which I’m 5-7 weeks late in starting and nothing else to distract me!  Here’s my last quilt
