I said I wasn't going to start a new project until I had finished up the old projects....but I just had to have a wee project so I joined Christa's Simple Strips quiltalong. http://weallsew.com/simple-strips-quilt-along-part-1-materials-list-fabric-cutting/ It's an easy pattern but it feels good to do a beginner project! I used a jelly roll of Kona pastels plus some gray fabric and here's the top:
I think it should be called Post-it Notes! It's 48x60 so a real quickie quilt, then back to old projects, I'll work on my pineapple blocks...
after I posted this I realized I had sewn the blocks horizontal and I wanted them to be vertical. So after a few minor changes, here is my top!

Orange Peel quilt is finished!
It shouldn't have taken a week to finish this since it only took about 3 hours to do the quilting, but I couldn't decide whether or not to add a border. I really like the border...and there was no big rush. This is another quilt for donation for Hands2Help. of course the blog turned them sideways!

Orange peel top is finished
I have the squares sewn down and put together, with a narrow border. I think it needs to be a little bigger so am looking for something in my stash to make borders. This quilt is also destined for H2H

Finished quilting my rail fence
Finished my rail fence, a design by Sujata in her book Cultural Fusion. I love it! So, check off another UFO finished! This will be donated to H2H.
Another UFO I dug out to work on is from the book, One Block Wonder. Here is my attempt:
this is the ugliest thing I have ever seen! and I see no purpose in finishing it. I love these quilts, but the fabric I chose just isn't right The fabric is from the Alexander Henry collection, which I googled and discovered lots of crazy designs. I think I picked this one up at a yard sale ... so since I'm not in love with it, I guess I could make a zillion hot pads?
Almost done making all the squares for my UFO orange peel quilt, so hope to get that one out of the way next week. Pretty soon I can start a new project...!
