Here is the latest square in the Nabby's Dowry series, the last block we make 4 of them (I've only made one), 2nd row far right..
Also putting together the squares in the Suffragette quiltalong, still a few more rows to go. And a border!

Suffragette quiltalong - putting together the squares
After putting sashing on one side of all the squares, I started then to sew it to the opposite side. Then I thought, wait a minute, I don't need to do that! So rip those out, and now although I wasn't going to put cornerstones, I guess I have to since I have so many of the 8.5" strips already cut! But it turns out that's a good thing since my sashing is so light, and it needs medium to medium-dark cornerstones I think. I am going through all my scraps from making this quilt which I saved in one bag - thank goodness. I will have to cut just a few pieces of fabric to have enough 2.5" squares. Funny how things work out! Of course I could say I planned it this way all along... this is how it is looking without the sashing/cornerstone strips. Not sure about borders but will figure that out as I go. Since purple is my favorite color, and this quilt is for ME, it likely will be a purplish border.
These are laid out in the order in which I made them, 1 through 49, so I could see if my color selection and sewing improved any from start to finish. But some I like more than others so I will rearrange a few and put the favorites in the middle, like my sunbonnet girl, the parasol, coffee cup, Kansas sunflower, heroine's crown. This has been fun!

Quilts for Kids
Here are 2 quilts for kids, ready to be mailed. It should not have taken me so long to get these finished - I'm just not as fast as I used to be!

Labor day 2013!
I really did work on quilts last week although not much to show for it. Many days were spent taking out quilting on a baby quilt - which of course has taken 10 times as long as doing it in the first place. But almost ready to re-quilt it!
Here is the Mystery QOV top put together: Kind of weird...
and here are the 8 blocks completed on the Nabby's Dowry quiltalong: I'm doing mine in blue HST scraps. http://www.heartspunquilts.blogspot.ca/

Friday's progress on things
Working with these QOV 'bonus quilt' parts, kind of tedious - squaring up 2.5" and 2" triangles, snipping the dog ears, finding I need a few more of each. I had hoped to be finished with it this week, but alas I am not yet.
Then I've done the 7th block in the Nabby quilt-a-long. I know I will need a lot more than just one of each of these, so why haven't I done at least 2 of each one??
