New quilt!
I saw this layout and didn’t realize it was the Jacob’s Ladder square. So made a few using some charm squares and fat quarters. Jennie Doan has a cool video for making quick 4-patches. But I’m having some trouble duplicating the layout I want...need to move and rotate plus make some more. I can see there are numerous variations. Fun!
I’ve got it, need 8 more squares for a lap size. Here is the one I saw on a blog, 3and3quarters.net

Checkered hearts
i love this quilt, so cuddly!
Then started quilting Color Outside the Lines, thinking a circular design would be good. But I did a terrible job so nixed that idea and picked it all out. I might just resort to my wavy line, my go to favorite. I don’t have an intended recipient so I guess I’ll take the easy way out... I hate how lazy I’ve become!

For a new baby
I put together these squares using several pinks, dark pinks and aquas. The pattern is “Checkered Hearts.” Wasn’t sure what to use for sashing then found this very old Peter Pan calico that’s at least 10 years old. I bought it at a yard sale where a lady was no longer quilting and had scads of fabric she used when working for the Quilted Bear. I remember I bought a lot of her fabrics, this seemed the right one to use. But in photos it looks like tan when it is a purple and pink calico. I am using Minky for the back, my first time to do this, I’ve always wanted to try it. So far no problems, I’m about half way quilting it with the “wavy line” method. A really awful picture! It’s cuter in person...
Here’s a close-up

It’s a quilt top!
This lovely is now ready to back and quilt. Lot of seams to match! I originally started out with purple in the corner, then realized I could use pink or red also in those places. Decided on the red. These fabrics were all from my stash, and it really didn’t take very much fabric. I was sort of following the pattern, depending on what I had on hand. It was fun! Thanks to the American Patchwork and Quilting folks for the quilt-along...
