oh My GOSH where has the time gone!

well I know where it's gone...and I have been very lazy.  BUT I have a new project of quilting 5 quilts for Quilts for Kids, which I've just discovered has a local group.  So this will definitely get me out of my slump.  I also boxed up two quilts for donation for H2H, and will get in the mail today.  I still need to finish my QOV quilt, work on the Fat Quarter Shop BOM and I impulsively bought fabric for Postcard from Sweden quilt!  I look forward to being caught up...

Thursday progress

I finished the Magnolia Mystery quilt, here:

Feels good to have this and the Transparency quilt done and ready to donate to H2H, to Happy Chemo!

I've started the QOV mystery by Alycia and have completed these star blocks: Need 16, but working on the clues from yesterday too.  Using all from scraps, yah!

Next big project is to get the On Ringo Lake quilt top laid out and pinned, a big task!  Bought the backing from Hancock's of Paducah and it took forever to get here...over 2 weeks.  After this, I'll need to start a new project, have some in mind from reading Kathy's blog (https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/)  but I'll never be as busy as she is !
A generous quilter offered prizes with the Transparency Quiltalong (https://quiltingjetgirl.com/2017/08/18/wayward-transparency-quilt-along-quilt-reveal-schedule-sponsors-prizes/ and I was a lucky recipient of this:
and here's another block in the Fat Quarter Shop BOM:

Magnolia Mystery quilt is finished

This sweet child's quilt is quilted, bound, washed and ready for donation.  Now the only quilt left to be quilted is the huge Bonnie Hunter quilt, On Ringo Lake.  Sent away for backing fabric, not received yet.  Oh I had an interruption to my life last week, a heart attack!  I think I was probably more afraid than I needed to be, but really? a heart attack?  It was not in the "usual" sense of clogged arteries, so I have that going for me.  Just needed to up some high blood pressure meds.  Well, we never know what's coming, do we....

Wayward Transparency Quilt - finish

This quilt was a fun one to make, a design by Vyonne@quiltingJetgirl    I quilting it with straight diagonal lines one direction only, and am looking for binding fabric.  The background is a pale blue.  Oh I should show you the back...Now it's done!

I have finished the Magnolia Mystery top, needs backing and quilting.  I made mine narrower than outlined.  I think it will do for a child's quilt
and here are the 8 blocks of the Fat Quarter Shop block of the month series, which will go on for 4 more months.

So for 2018, I will be starting a Military mystery QOV, the Moonlight Path Mystery ( thttp://www.corasquilts.com/mp-color-theory/), the Square Dance Quiltalong, and the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  I have a list of half a dozen baby quilts I want to crank out too.   These projects should keep me busy for awhile!

On Ringo Lake - finish

Here is the finished top, after multiple decisions and re-decisions!  Best part, no leftover pieces.  Thanks for the fun mystery!  There were a lot of lovely variations which you can see on Bonnie Hunter's linkup page: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2018/02/one-final-on-ringo-lake-link-up.html
Now I can get back to two unfinished quiltalongs, Magnolia Mystery and Cartwheel.

More On Ringo Lake progress

I am working intermittently on this quilt!  Some days I love it and other days I do NOT.  I have enough cut out for all 50 squares, although only 25 are made, because I thought I would make two small quilts instead of one big one.  Here is my progress on this:
But now because I have enough of the turquoise fabric, I've decided to just make the one big quilt.  So this means I need to finish the squares and sashing.
Also working on finishing the Magnolia Mystery, and decided against a 14"border on each side of the center, instead opting to add 3 borders, here is what it will look like when again I work on it!
I do have the Transparency quilt pinned and all ready to quilt, just haven't gotten to it yet.
I seem to be in a bit of a lull at present, instead of sewing watching Netflix and Amazon videos!  But that will change I know...There's a snow storm coming and perhaps that will get me inspired back to the sewing machine!

On Ringo Lake progress

Today I finished all 7 clues and am ready to start putting blocks together! Yah for me!  Whew it was a long process.  I have one block made.  Points chopped off, bad!  There is still a long way to go, but no hurry...
