Oh my gosh, it's August! and I have nothing to show. I did go on a trip to Oregon the end of last month, and I have signed up for a couple more projects! what is the matter with me?? I can't seem to get back to working on what I already have started...but I am kept busy with garden and reading. I went on a hike last weekend to Albion Basin to look at the wildflowers, but they had already peaked and this is what was left. It was a gorgeous day and site...

Americana QAL
I joined the American quilt along, a row by row quilt, starting with the July blocks, and have made just one block from each row. The first row is Firework Star - definitely a learning curve here. The second row is Colors of Liberty (need to fix that center seam of the flag). for more information see here http://dodmystery.blogspot.com/
I also made 6 kennel quilts for an animal shelter in Houston...

Friday update
I finished the sailboats for the Bitty Block quiltalong. They are kind of cute!
and am caught up on the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (red):
I started a new paper pieced project called Americana Quilt Along. It's a row-by-row quilt and the pattern is free as long as I keep up each month. I started the July block late, so am working on it. Will post a picture when it's done...

Updates
I really have been here all summer, no vacations, just too lazy to blog. But that doesn't mean I haven't been busy in the sewing room occasionally!
I worked on a wall hanging for the 4th of July...I actually like the second picture better than the finished one - I like the wave with nothing cut off...
This Grand Illusion was the last quilt in my "to be quilted" pile. Feels so good. And now I can catch up on the monthly projects, Bitty Blocks and Rainbow Scrap Challenge, but get busy on some older projects started last year and before. And of course I have some projects waiting to be started...

and then I began the long process of quilting the huge Grand Illusion mystery from Bonnie Hunter started last November... My baby blue blocks
All I accomplished last week in the sewing room was to make my June scrap challenge blocks, Baby Blues. I did read several books, daily working in the garden and inside chores. The hotter it gets outside the more I want to relax on the couch and read! Currently I'm working on a patriotic wall hanging, should finish it in a day or two...

Finished Disappearing Hourglass
I have been busy, just not blogging about it! Last week I worked on and finished my Disappearing Hourglass quilt, and it will be donated to my local VA Hospital. I love the pattern!
