Finally put the Elephant Parade together, it's now ready to be quilted. I put an extra border on it, felt it needed something beyond the white. I plan to quilt it with wavy lines as suggested in the instructions.

I'm excited about the Hands2Help challenge, as I will be able to find a home for some of my quilts! I am signing up for all three charities.

Finish it up Friday
One quilt is finished, quilted and with its presentation case:
Since I am having eye surgery next week, I need to hurry and finish this spring wall hanging, plus hopefully get started on the March blocks for the Bitty Squares and the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!
All the units are done and waiting to be put together for the Elephant Parade:
The next thing I sneaked in and will have done before the first day of Spring is my Mini Tulip wall hanging. Here are the pots and leaves plus one completed unit, so far: (oops a bit blurry)Since I am having eye surgery next week, I need to hurry and finish this spring wall hanging, plus hopefully get started on the March blocks for the Bitty Squares and the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!

Saturday sewing
I've finished quite a few more of my disappearing hourglass blocks, deciding to make them in 4 different colors and a bigger quilt. Here's a possible layout: It will be 6x7 blocks and I have the remaining ones cut and ready to sew.
and I made the two birds for the Elephant Parade quilt...mine aren't quite right but okay, haven't made the legs yet... the flowers are next plus sashing.
So I am ready to quilt this QOV in the middle of all the projects! Need it done by the first of May for donation to the HMQS quilt show!

Disappearing hourglass block
First you start with 2 squares, any size (I cut mine 8"), sew around all 4 edges, cut on the diagonals and put together as hourglass.
then you cut into thirds on all 4 sides and put together as shown
Is it not awesome? I love it! I think I will make a baby size quilt to begin with...
