Sunday's goal
My goal for this weekend was to get where the end is in sight for the Tell it to the Stars mystery. I removed the previous 2nd border and added the color as instructed:
Then I had to redo the November clue for the pieced border and here is what one end will look like when I sew it on:
here is what it looked like before (my variation):
I think it does look more like it should! more coordinated... I will be able to finish this on Monday as right now! it is almost time for the superbowl....

January is almost over
January is not my best month! I'm always glad when it is over. So I'm looking for some new projects to get me excited about. Plus get excited about finishing old projects! I'm stuck on finishing the Tell it To The Stars quilt, and that seems like a good place to start. The biggest problem finishing it is deciding to make the borders as in the directions versus thinking I had a better idea, and deciding the directions win out. So need to do some new sewing on the November clue... Hope to have something to show...soon!

This quilt top is BIG
I had to move two chairs from the living room to take this picture! Big quilt! Glad this top is finished, hope I don't see any mistakes!
EDITOR: YIKES, I do see a big mistake...I forgot to turn the flower blocks so that the centers were all oriented the same. I really can't see that it makes a difference, it will stay as is!

Grand Illusion - rows and sashing sewn together
not very interesting to see the same thing week after week! I'll be glad to be finished with this top, it needs a couple borders and then I can put it on a pile. The next project is to finish Judy's sew along, Tell it to the Stars. Then what? several quilts to quilt of course, but always love a new project...
the instructions call for a yellow border next but how about a black border...

more Grand Illusion
I sewed the 25 big blocks, they are nice because they can be turned if desired, and don't have to go just one way. My aqua cornerstones I am undecided about, the ones in the picture are from scraps of an aqua sheet I had, although I have a lighter shade in my Kona. But I like the darker (sheet) one!

putting it all together
The Grand Illusion mystery is finally taking shape. The pieces to go together nicely, but the colors seem real strange...too soon to tell how I will like it.
