Now it's really done

Don't know why it took so long to finish this, but here it is. A very big quilt. I am ready for a new project!

Carolina Christmas top done!

Big - too big to all fit in a picture. Love how it turned out. Will work on quilting tomorrow, probably all over meandering. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot about what I'll use for a backing!

Red time

Amaryllis, poinsettia and cyclamen with xmas cactus in the background. The xmas cactus was gorgeous, only a few blooms left

Step 6, layout time

The big squares are finally put together, ready for the layout. I am not sure about this quilt, still think there is not enough contrast..and after all this work. So many seams to match!

step 5 finished

Lots and lots of sewing, lots and lots of pieces. And after all that, I don't think there is enough contrast between the blues and greens! I should have thrown in a warm color for contrast rather than the black. I need to go to color school! But I can't quit now, and hope it all works out, perhaps the border will do some magic.

these are the green blocks laid out, although they won't be in this configuration, and here are the blue. When I sew four of the green together, there will be 13 blocks, when I sew four of the blue together there will be 12 blocks. Then we can see better what this is going to look like!

Part 4 is done

making headway, Step 4 is done, but I think i might have counted wrong and might be short one square - I'll count again or else wait until I get to that part!

Christmas and quilts

I gave 7 of my quilts to 4 grandchildren and 3 children. Here are some pictures of them with the quilts. Kayla didn't participate! And I hate that the picture of Elizabeth and Mira is blurry! Sami and Casey are more interested in Mira's new Wii....
