Her name is Brenda Gantt who lives in Andalusia, Alabama. She has a series of videos plus two cookbooks. I love to watch her videos, such a sweet southern lady. Her biscuits are a fun and easy way to make I’ve made several batches, here is my first attempt. She is so enthusiastic and upbeat, you’ll feel like cooking something!

Another Kimberly
This GE Designs uses a layer cake pack, so 42 squares made. This will make two baby/child quilts. Why make one quilt when you can make two! One top is made and the second is ready to be sewn together. I may put a border to make a bit bigger. Then I will have 5 tops needing to be quilted….fun!

Back in the sewing room!
I have gathered all my fabrics for the Bonnie Hunter mystery, no pic.
I completed two tops I started in July, one with charm squares and a GEDesigns one. This is the second one using charm squares motivated by the Fat Quarter Shop challenge I have way too many of those squares, I could make a dozen quilts! Each one uses 100 charm squares.

Yeah Halloween 🎃🎃🎃
Long hot summer is over, my gardens are put to bed until spring and today is Bonnie Hunter’s mystery color reveal! Aqua, purple and orange. I may substitute red for orange (not a favorite) and switch around the amounts in each color. I haven’t done anything in my sewing room all summer..my machine is covered in dust! It needs to go for yearly service, so in the meantime I’ll gather my fabrics in the lead up to Black Friday!
Here’s some summer flowers

August
It’s slightly cooler than awful July, hooray. I read about the Fat quarter shop’s Charm Square Challenge and since I have a ton of 5” squares I put a top together. Quick and easy already putting together a second one

Slowly getting back to the sewing room
I got stuck because after starting the quilting on my Strip Tease quilt I decided I didn’t like how the quilting looked. So for the first time ever I picked out all the quilting. Then it sat for awhile deciding how to requilt it. Started to do wavy line down the columns and after a few rows I couldn’t get my machine to feed properly with the walking foot. So changed to organic wavy lines and finished it that way. I have to say this is the worst quilting I’ve ever done! But it is finished and after a quick wash it’ll be fine.
