The last stitches

Oh it’s sure good to be done, sort of, with this quilt, I am tired of it. It’s going in my To be Quilted Later pile while I either finish something else or start new!  I like how it all came together…

Getting there..

I’m nearly done sewing the rows together. Just happened to notice one of the A blocks, the pink ones, is not like the others. How did I miss this!  Can you spot it?  I do have an extra A block so I can swap it out easily enough. Then a narrow border and then the final border of which the parts are already made.  Hopefully just a few more days till a quilt top!

Sunday working

Auditioning color for setting triangles… aqua…cranberry…hmmm not sure.  Decided to use what I have of aqua, so it’ll be scrappy.

So now the sashing comes into play, real skinny ones.  It’s coming together…

Today’s progress

I greatly underestimated how much I still needed to complete before putting this together. Seems like endless little hourglass squares!  And I’ve got the block turned wrong, but wanted to get an idea of where I’m going!  Here is a photo of the entire quilt:

Now I’m going to make mine minus one row and minus one column. I’ve decided not to make the partial blocks that form setting triangles but instead cut triangles out of the aqua color that is used in the sashing. I wanted more of that color.  It’s nice to make a little progress!

Back to sewing

My goodness it’s been almost a month since I’ve worked on the mystery clues. When I saw the reveal I didn’t particularly like it. But might as well put it together, what else to do with all the pieces!  I’m not making full size this time so hopefully I can finish quickly and get on to other things. I wish my sewing room was on the ground floor…
