Gee, no posts since May...I guess I’m spending too much time outdoors gardening. Haven’t done anymore sewing. It got real hot suddenly and the sewing room quickly gets too warm. But I sure am enjoying more of my flowers, so it’s a happy time.🌺😀

Saturday work
Clicking right along with the Postcard from Sweden quilt top. I have a system for putting these together that works pretty good, only made one mistake so far! I have the triangles spread out making pairing easy, then to the sewing machine to put together a row at a time. Two rows so far...

Lovely May
😊😊😍May is such a lovely month here, flower, trees, Spring temps. Planting garden, etc.. And now that many of my binge-worthy shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime have ended, I'm slowly getting back into sewing, along with gardening..
So here I have finished all 12 of the Fat Quarter Shop Mystery 2017, but now I'm wondering how it all goes together. After 12 months, I don't remember where the initial instructions are!!
But look at all the fabric that is left over!! There are enough scraps to make at least two and maybe more baby quilts. I love the bright colors.

Then I made a start on the Postcard from Sweden (IKEA), cutting up 36 fat quarters into squares, then cutting those squares into triangles. And label everything, of course.
Then according to an intricate design of which triangles to make into HSTs, I began. All the time I'm wondering why we have to pair them up a certain way. After making just 4 HSTs and again with a label, I'm thinking there has to be a way to streamline this process, somehow, without getting confused. This quilt idea was a quilt-along in March and April, and since I'm just getting started I'll need to refer to the quilt-along instructions. I can envision myself screwing up and throwing the instructions away and just winging it. But let's not go there yet!...Wednesday, May 2, 2018
Cartwheels quilt top
This simple quilt top has taken way longer than it should have, yet I managed to make mistakes putting the blocks together. I didn't lay it out with those yellows staggered like that. oh well... Simple doesn't always mean easy! anyway, it's ready to be quilted, I'm not putting borders on it.
So now I can finally start cutting up fabric for the Postcard from Sweden quilt...

Progress - 5 Quilts for Kids
Finished up the quilting and binding on these five quilts for QFK, responding to a request for volunteers to help. I think I am back in the groove...
But I am two months behind on the Fat Quarter Shop BOM, so that next to work on, plus finish up this other quilt top, Cartwheels. Since I bought the fabrics for the Postcard from Sweden quilt along, but never started, I'll get going on that one. Then although I've made a list of quilts I'd like to start, at this point I'm not sure I will. I have enough going to keep busy for a few months, then will evaluate. I wonder if I'm losing interest in quilting??? I'll probably always do QOVs and QFKs...
So I finished up the remaining clues on the last QOV mystery, and here is my quilt top:
