Orange Peel quilt is finished!

It shouldn't have taken a week to finish this since it only took about 3 hours to do the quilting, but I couldn't decide whether or not to add a border.  I really like the border...and there was no big rush.  This is another quilt for donation for Hands2Help.  of course the blog turned them sideways!

Orange peel top is finished

I have the squares sewn down and put together, with a narrow border.  I think it needs to be a little bigger so am looking for something in my stash to make borders.  This quilt is also destined for H2H

Finished quilting my rail fence

Finished my rail fence, a design by Sujata in her book Cultural Fusion.  I love it!  So, check off another UFO finished! This will be donated to H2H.

Another UFO I dug out to work on is from the book, One Block Wonder.  Here is my attempt:
this is the ugliest thing I have ever seen! and I see no purpose in finishing it.  I love these quilts, but the fabric I chose just isn't right  The fabric is from the Alexander Henry collection, which I googled and discovered lots of crazy designs.  I think I picked this one up at a yard sale ... so since I'm not in love with it, I guess I could make a zillion hot pads?
Almost done making all the squares for my UFO orange peel quilt, so hope to get that one out of the way next week.  Pretty soon I can start a new project...!

Working on my Orange Peel top

made a few more blocks, and this is what I have so far:  I used 2 packs of 5" squares of Moda's Block Party, but I'll have to add colors from my stash to make it bigger.

Rail Fence top finished

I worked yesterday, National Quilting Day! on this project started last year.   A fun project, although some of the blocks don't have enough contrast.  However I'm happy with it.
The next project to tackle, of the unfinished projects, is an orange peel design I started last year (I think) or maybe the year before http://berylthepearl.blogspot.com/2015/04/monday-design-wall.html.  I just AM NOT going to start a new project yet...

Shelter pets in Louisiana

Feeling sorry for the cats in Louisiana, I was happy to fulfill a request through the Petfinder Foundation.http://www.quiltpatternmagazine.com/program/KennelQuilt/index.html.  I sent off three kennel quilts I made over the weekend.  I sorted through some orphan blocks and put them together...(this isn't a very good picture)

And instead of starting a new project this year, I am seriously working on finishing up projects I started last year!  more pictures to come...

Bitty Block quilt

My bitty-block quilt is finished! I quilted it with Sulky 60 wt, hoping the quilting would somewhat disappear so the lovely blocks could be seen better.  It has a wonderful texture and is a nice nap size!
