Only 2 more to do of the February blocks, then I can start on another of my projects I hope to participate in, listed on the right sidebar. For the Elephant Parade, and pulled out all my grays and browns.
here's the last 2 basket blocks:
oh and my Christmas amaryllis has decided to bloom right on time for Valentine's Day! I've never had one that also had blooms around the bottom, very pretty.
Something isn't quite right with the borders, don't know where I goofed! With the bias, stretchy feel to it, I am hoping it will quilt out nice and smooth. My granddaughter says it is bumble bee colors...
Now to finally get started on a new project! I have some in mind, but want to sort through my small scraps first as the QM Bitty Blocks that I am thinking of doing will use scraps first. On my sidebar, I've included three quilt alongs I'd like to play along with.
My goal for this weekend was to get where the end is in sight for the Tell it to the Stars mystery. I removed the previous 2nd border and added the color as instructed:
Then I had to redo the November clue for the pieced border and here is what one end will look like when I sew it on:
here is what it looked like before (my variation):
I think it does look more like it should! more coordinated... I will be able to finish this on Monday as right now! it is almost time for the superbowl....
January is not my best month! I'm always glad when it is over. So I'm looking for some new projects to get me excited about. Plus get excited about finishing old projects! I'm stuck on finishing the Tell it To The Stars quilt, and that seems like a good place to start. The biggest problem finishing it is deciding to make the borders as in the directions versus thinking I had a better idea, and deciding the directions win out. So need to do some new sewing on the November clue... Hope to have something to show...soon!
I had to move two chairs from the living room to take this picture! Big quilt! Glad this top is finished, hope I don't see any mistakes!
EDITOR: YIKES, I do see a big mistake...I forgot to turn the flower blocks so that the centers were all oriented the same. I really can't see that it makes a difference, it will stay as is!
