Here's the way it should be

But I think the light strips vs dark strips should be reversed because for some reason the light strips appear to be larger in size.  Must be the way I trim...more experimenting is in order....

Saturday Pineapple

Got excited to join Crazy Mom and do pineapples http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2014/10/how-to-make-pineapple-block-without.html

But I did something wrong, my darks are going wrong.....

Where did I go so wrong???  I'll have to try again! Duh, stupid me, I sewed the corner units to the dark strips and I should have sewn them to the light strips!!  Now I can sleep tonite .....I'll post the picture tomorrow



and I've started the borders for my Big Star quilt,

and doing quilting on  my Houndstooth Check quilt! too much sunlight.

12 Big Stars !

Ready to put this together, I think I started it about 2 years ago, nothing planned, it just evolved.  Some sashing and cornerstones come next.

Big Star blocks

I don't know the name of these blocks, I just call them Big Star since they are big, 12.5" square.  Need to look at different layouts for blocks, perhaps make 2-3 more.  I don't know why they have languished so long, it takes about 10 minutes to make one!

Wednesday's work

I'm busy busy working along, a little bit on each project.  Today I made one more Big Star square, plus the "F" in the Little Letters quilt.  Fun!

September Charming Stars

these Charm Stars are so easy and fast, and big - 14" - this quilt will go together fast.  Using the charm squares from my stash...a combination of Civil War and other packs that caught my eye.  It still doesn't use all of course, and I don't have enough of the white for sashing, so will use some other white in my stash.   The sashing will help to brighten.
