more memorial day quilt


finally got this block border done after several cutting mistakes. only 2 more borders to go... the red is some fat quarters I was originally going to use for a snowball quilt, so lots of piecing for the border.

Poppies and Memorial Day quilt

I have 2 poppy plants, one red and one orange. They are blooming now, so vibrant!

and I have the squares sewn together with 1st border, will do 2nd (red) border tomorrow. This first border is a dark navy with stars, not black like it looks in this picture. here is the red border!

Bonnie's class in Austin, Texas













It was such a thrill to finally meet Bonnie and take a class from her. After several years of reading her blog and making her quilts, it was quite exciting to meet her in person. This was a crumb workshop and was lots of fun, stretching your mind and doing things that for me were not intuitive. Here are some pictures.
